At Water’s Edge band brings the sounds of the Jazz- and swing-era back to life. They perform music by Duke Ellington, John Coltrane, Louis Armstrong, and many others.
Fall is the best time for sprucing up your Northern Neck (NNK) property with native plants. And, there’s no better place to get some than the annual Native Plant Sale at Good Luck Cellars where the green-thumb experts from The Northern Neck Native Plant Society will be. Nearly all of the plants for sale were raised by chapter members.
Friday: Members only hours (2:30-4:30). Non-members are welcome to get a sneak peak. Good Luck is open 11:00-8:00; food service from T’Boyees 5:00-7:00; music/dancing 5:30-7:30.
Saturday: Open to the public (12:00 – 3:00). Good Luck is open 11:00-6:00; food service from Dynamite Catering 12:00-4:00; music on the porch with Hokie Joe 1:00-4:00.
Sunday: Open to the public (1:00 – 3:00). Knowledgeable native plant experts and landscape designers will be on site to answer plant questions. There will be various displays laid out as well — right plant, right place, right light.
Members of the NNK Chapter of the Virginia Master Gardeners Shoreline Evaluation Program will also be onsite to answer shoreline questions and plantings to ensure you Protect the Bay and its life.
Line Dancing, Circle Dancing, and Hip Hop Dancing will be taught on select Fridays from 4-5 PM.
A different dance move will be taught at each session by local instructor Joy Hendershot. Then you’re encouraged to stay for music/dancing at 5:30 to show off your new moves with the regular Friday dancers. Wine Down Friday is hosted year round, includes live music/dancing 5:30-7:30, and there’s usually a food truck on site 5:00-7:00 .
No dance partner is needed to participate.

The Northern Neck Orchestra is kicking off their 2025-2026 Chamber Music Series at Good Luck Cellars with two string trios by a youthful Ludwig van Beethoven that reflect the delicacy of the Classical period with a hint of the passionate intensity of the composer’s later works.
Concert features Beethoven’s String Trio No. 1 in E-flat major and String Trio No. 2 in G major and will be performed by Moises Cunha, violin, Amelia Clingman, viola and Jake Fowler, cello.
Tickets for the performance are $35.00. Season tickets for the four-concert chamber music series are $112.00. Tickets may be purchased online at www.northernneckorchestra.org

NORTHERN NECK ORCHESTRA’S MICHAEL REPPER TO PRESENT NEW RECORDING OF MUSIC BY SAMUEL COLERIDGE-TAYLOR
The Northern Neck Orchestra’s Grammy® Award-winning Music Director Michael Repper will present music from his new recording of works by British composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor on Saturday, August 23 at 3:00 p.m. at Good Luck Cellars, 1025 Good Luck Road in Kilmarnock.
COST: $10.00 (cash only) and attendees will receive a signed copy of the album which features world premiere recordings of Coleridge-Taylor, whose exceptional music is rarely heard.
CONCERT VENUE: Good Luck Cellars' Event Room. The winery's Tasting Room and porch will remain open to the public.
The album, released on August 1, commemorates the 150th birthday of Coleridge-Taylor. It features six-time Grammy® Award nominated violinist Curtis Stewart and the National Philharmonic conducted by Repper.
Repper will underscore his commentary by demonstrating selections of the compositions on the piano and utilizing the recorded performance.
“This will be an entertaining and enlightening afternoon of interacting with the audience in the spirit of the pre-concert talks before our orchestra concerts. In addition to presenting some great music, I’ll be talking about the inspiration and research behind the project—including uncovering long-lost scores in the British Library and Library of Congress—and the challenge of bringing unpublished music to life.” — Michael Repper, Music Director, NNO
Repper also will highlight the Northern Neck Orchestra’s role in helping support the creation of the album and promote the music of Coleridge-Taylor. This includes performing the Virginia premiere of Toussaint L'Ouverture in 2023, a work that appears on the new recording.
Attendees also will get a preview of the orchestra’s first concert of the 2025-2026 season on Saturday, October 4 at the Lancaster Elementary School Theater in Kilmarnock.
The concert program features Coleridge-Taylor’s Five Negro Melodies, Louise Farrenc’s Overture No. 1, and Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9, “From the New World.”

1. What is chair/seated massage?Chair massage is a 20-minute massage that focuses on the high-tension areas of the body, such as neck, back, shoulders, arms and hands. Clients comfortably sit in the provided specially designed massage chair.
2. Is chair massage beneficial?Absolutely! There are many benefits to massage. Here are just a few: massage improves venous and lymphatic flow, decreases tension and improves flexibility, and increases endorphin levels.
3. Do I have to remove any clothing while receiving chair massage? No. One of the benefits of chair massage is that you can sit as you are, clients do not remove any clothing!
4. Is it sanitary?Yes! The massage therapist cleans and disinfects the chair and their hands between each client and provides a fresh face-rest cover for each massage recipient to ensure cleanliness.
5. Are there contraindications for chair massage?Yes. Medical contraindications include, but are not limited to: uncontrolled hypertension, uncontrolled diabetes, fractures, herniated discs, malignancy, infectious skin disease, rash, inflamed or infected injuries. Please inform your massage therapist if you have any acute or ongoing health conditions before receiving massage.

A different dance move will be taught at each session by local instructor Joy Hendershot. Then you’re encouraged to stay for Friday Wine Down to show off your new moves with the regular Friday dancers. Wine Down Friday is hosted year round, includes live music/dancing 5:30-7:30, and there’s usually a food truck on site 5:00-7:00.
No dance partner is needed to participate.

We’re excited to welcome Against The Grain to Good Luck Cellars for a porch party. This acoustic duo plays energetic 50s to modern covers and original music.
They’re form from NoVa but frequent Heathsville, Kilmarnock and surrounding NNK quite often to visit family and friends that live in the area.

Join the ladies of Melodies & Masterpieces, Tiara, Janette & Marsha, for an an elevated paint and sip experience that includes
pre-drawn canvases for you to paint. They’ll have two options for you to choose from on event day (wine and shoreline or sunset water scene). No painting skills needed; the ladies will guide you through it. Note: drawings can be viewed on ticket sales site.
